The Quartzsite Roadrunners Gem & Mineral club in one of the largest gem & mineral clubs in the country. In addition, our club is 100% volunteer operated, which means many of the members help by being elected officers, shop foremen, instructors, leaders of field trips, and cashiers at many events, etc.
Membership in the club is held at a very low cost because of the efforts of our volunteers. Our annual membership is $20 per year. And our season is five months (November through March) long. You must be 18 years old or older to become a member.
Our facilities, classes and other activities during the season are led by members who volunteer their time on behalf of other members. The club is indeed an amazingly successful organization that provides the best in educational opportunities to promote the use of lapidary and jewelry making activities for its members. We also hold many social activities throughout the year. Come and join us as a member and we encourage you to participate as a volunteer to the extent that you can.
For those of you who are primarily interested in a field trip or two, we offer a temporary membership of $2 per trip purchased at the time of the trip. This allows you to participate in our field trips and is covered by our insurance. No participation in shop activities is covered under our temporary memberships. If you desire to go on several of our field trips, we advise buying a regular annual membership for $20.
If you are a new member you can buy your membership at our mandatory new membership orientation, Thursday 8:00 am held in the Club’s Craft Barn, at 65 Ironwood St. Returning members can renew their membership at the club Mon, Tue, Wed or Fri from 9:00 am to noon.
Remember that the metal shop, lapidary shop, and faceting shop have mandatory orientations at 9 am each Thursday morning. Be sure to register in advance for any orientation in these three shops. These orientations are required before you can use the equipment in the shop.
